About Francie Stoner:
DifCom Designs LLC offers methods and tools to help its clients communicate its messages more effectively. Stop Informating! Start Communicating! is the flagship Communication Workshop. Stop Doing Your Demo! Start Creating Their Experience! is the flagship ‘demo’ workshop. Companies “Get it” and totally change how they deliver their messages after experiencing a DifCom Workshop! They have coined the term: WWDD – What Would DifCom Do? At DifCom Designs, Ms. Stoner, along with her business partner, Bryan Ritter, design and deliver communications that differentiate and motivate people to take action. They work with companies that provide products and solutions that make a difference to peoples’ lives, where getting their message across is vital!
The LAUGHH (Live Abundantly Using Guided Helping Hands) Foundation organizes health and wellness education and missions, and is currently serving in mission trips to Bucaramanga, Colombia, South America and surrounding areas that are desperate for healthcare and wellness education. In addition to her medical team doing diagnosis and treatment, she also has a very strong education team that teaches nutrition and exercise, body awareness and examination for changes, especially around women’s health, as well as controlling and caring for chronic conditions such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension and obesity. Partnering with 2 Colombian medical schools, medical students say they learn to ‘practice medicine with a heart’ by working side-by-side with American doctors who teach them about the need to give back while teaching them assessments and diagnostics. “On a medical mission the patient usually receives 30 days’ worth of a medication and then they are left with no recourse. In some cases they are worse off than if they had never had the medication at all. BUT if they receive education on their conditions, what they are doing in their lives that led to that and how to change their lifestyle to control, reverse and/or cure their conditions and the potential complications that could arise, then the patients are empowered to take control of their lives and their healthcare destiny. THAT is what we do!” says Ms. Stoner. LAUGHH Foundation also has a pilot project with the school in Berlín, Colombia where the children are growing over 400 personal vegetable and fruit gardens and challenging themselves to get 1+ hour of exercise, 3 servings of milk or yoghurt, 4+ glasses of water and 5+ servings of fruits and vegetables each day. This is making a change in the lives of a generation that will change culture in the area, and improve lives for generations to come! In her position at the LAUGHH Foundation, she is in charge of driving the organization, and developing relationships while designing new projects for medical missions, service projects and education.
Ms. Stoner received a Bachelor of Arts in microbiology and a Bachelor of Science in medical technology from Kansas University. She also has more than 30 years of experience in executive roles and has delivered communication and demonstration training to over 7,000 people, helping them succeed personally as well as professionally with presentations and communication skills and general ‘game-of-life’ skills. She also works with high school and college students, teaching them how to effectively get their head in the game and play the ‘game of life’ by psyching themselves UP, not OUT! As an Assistant Clinical Professor in Health Information Management at University of Kansas Medical Center, she works with healthcare students on their communication skills, including how to motivate patients. She holds an active position with the advisory board for the School of Health Professions at the Kansas University Medical Center, and is on the Interprofessional Education Board of the Kansas University Medical Center. She is also on the executive board of the Weston Historical Museum, the Weston Christian Church, and Weston Chamber of Commerce, and is a founding board member for the Women Philanthropists for Kansas University and the KU Women 4 KU Women Fund. In 2011 she received the Soul of First Hand Foundation – only the second recipient of this award from Cerner Corporation’s philanthropic organization! In 2011 she also was recognized as the 2011 KUMC Distinguished Health Profession Alumna. Her dedication to helping others and improving lives in her community and around the world has earned Ms. Stoner recognition as a Top Female Executive.
